With Will Sampson and My Unchi, Martina Sherwood, in 1978

At my parents' home in 1978, with my brother Will Sampson and my Unchi, Martina Sherwood, where we were filming the Images of Indians film series. That is my Great-Grandfather Hinhan Wicasta, Owl Man, overlooking them.

Will Sampson, in a red plaid shirt, sits beside a smiling white-haired elder, Martina Sherwood, on a sofa; a framed portrait of Owl Man in a headdress hangs above them.
