Our journey in this physical world of time and space is brief and passing. The possessions, power, and honors of this world hold no lasting value when they are separated from our Creator, from love, and from our sacred responsibilities to one another. We must not allow attachment to material things, pride, or selfish desire to turn us away from the spiritual path or cause us to forget the world of the Spirit that awaits beyond this earthly life.
We must walk humbly before the Great Mystery and never measure our worth by what we possess. Everything within the Sacred Circle of Life belongs ultimately to the Creator and is entrusted to us only for a season. What the Creator gives to those who walk the Good Red Road-truthfulness, compassion, wisdom, generosity, justice, and spiritual understanding- is far more precious than anything that can be accumulated upon our Mother Earth.
Every member of our human family is a servant of our Creator, whether or not we yet recognize this sacred relationship. We are all relatives, called to care for one another and for all life. Those who place their trust in the Great Mystery, recognize the sacred signs surrounding them, and sincerely strive to correct the harm they have caused may enter the vast circle of divine mercy. For the Creator knows our weaknesses, sees the true intentions within our hearts, and is Ever-Forgiving, compassionate, and generous beyond measure.
