Unified Indigenous Action on Climate Change at the UN in New York

Just arrived home from a great AISES Leadership Summit! Great to be home with my beloved wife and son!

Preparing to fly to New York City to Tuesday, the 19th, join our great relatives of the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests, Alianza Mesoamericana de Pueblos y Bosques, for unprecedented, unified actions April 21 and 22. On the 20th, we will complete our planning on our strategies and actions. These measures are designed to bring global awareness to the vastly different Indigenous perspectives and solutions, regarding the growing world's climate change crises and the impotent, shallow Paris Climate Change Agreement that will be signed by over 130 Nations on April 22, 2016, at the UN, in New York.

From my perspective, the primary significance of the Paris Climate Change Agreement is that the political leaders of Nation States of Mother Earth finally formally agree that there is something called " Climate Change" that human beings are contributing to crises!

The single Nation State to commit to reducing their current Carbon Emissions is Bolivia. The only Nation State in the world that is carbon neutral is the Kingdom of Butuan.

This nothing new! Historically, governments and corporations, after 21 years of climate conferences, have accomplished nothing to solve the climate challenge and have, in fact, subsidized the petroleum energy industry that increases climate change!

We will hold these governments and corporations responsible for making genuine progress, but we will not depend on them to restore the harmony and balance of life. The majority of the work to protect and restore our Mother Earth remains with each and every one of us.
