My great-grandfather, Tipi Sapa, Philip J. Deloria,. My father, myself, and my son are named after him. My father was Chaske, Tipi Sapa's oldest Grandson.

Tipi Sap's father was Hinhan Wicasta, Owl Man, with the Headdress. When Tipi Sapa was an Episcopal Minister at St. Elizabeth's, Wakpala, on Standing Rock, there was no divorce in 40 years.

All services were in Dakota or Lakota, depending on whether they were in a community like Cannon Ball (Dakota) or Wakpala (Lakota).
