Tiger's First Vote: Uniting Around Issues, Not Parties

At 8 am, Sutda and I went with our son Tiger, who just turned 18, to vote for the Mayor and City Council of White Rock. We studied the issues and unanimously decided on a slate of candidates that support our position. This was the first time Tiger, was old enough to vote.

Tiger has learned over the years that partisan politics are very divisive and that we vote on principles and issues, not personalities or through being a part of adversarial partisan politics.

In fact, my Dekshi, Vine Deloria Jr. shared with me in the late 1960's, that if we would unite around issues, not colonial political parties, we could be the ultimate decision-maker in most all elections across Turtle Island.

A few million votes united around an Indigenous vision and related action, based on truth and justice, in either Canada or the USA, will make a huge difference in how needed change unfolds. From, my perspective, it is clear to see, that this great need for positive change is not going to happen through partisan politics!

Even though our Indigenous Prophecies clearly foretell the global collapse of the current, corrupt colonial political and economic systems, we have the opportunity to ensure that this inevitable simultaneous process of the death of the old and the birth of the new, in the most healing and unifying manner possible!

It is not important if we win or lose this election! What is important is that we took action to make a positive change!

Even more important is that Tiger learned that he has a vote that counts. in the end, the spiritual forces of justice, integrity, love, prayers, reconciliation

It turns out his favorite high school teacher is a Candidate for City Council, who we ran into, with his family, just as we were leaving from voting. Tiger joyfully told him we just cast three votes for him.
