There are moments in the long journey of ourHuman Family when the Sacred Balance of our world is deeply disturbed.
Right now, we feel it: the earth trembles from fracking quakes in Oklahoma, from pipelines slicing through sacred lands. Winds are stronger, and more hurricanes are battering coastlines that used to be homes.
Waters rise in Bangladesh, swallow islands in the Pacific, and drown communities that never burned coal. Forests burn, not just in California or the Amazon, but across Siberia, where ancient peat fires smolder for years. The air we breathe carries soot from wildfires, plastic from oceans, and methane from melting permafrost.
Nations point fingers while weapons are stockpiled. Nuclear silos in North Korea, drones over Gaza, AI-guided missiles in Ukraine. Terror isn't just bombs. Children in Gaza are learning to hide from airstrikes, Indigenous children in Canada are still waiting for clean water, and migrants are dying in the Sonoran Desert because borders matter more than lives.
Our structures are cracking too. Governments lie about climate goals while subsidizing oil. Banks fund pipelines while preaching "sustainability." Leaders promise strength, then jail protesters, silence journalists, turn neighbors into enemies over race, religion, borders.
The anger's real: far-right rallies in Europe, anti-migrant crowds in the U.S., caste violence in India, land grabs in Brazil. We're not fighting over ideas anymore. We're fighting over the last scraps.
From my perspective, this isn't chaos. This is medicine. Mother Earth isn't punishing us, she's rebalancing. We've treated her like a mine, not a mother. We've built empires on stolen land, on slave labor, on endless growth that never asks "enough."
We've forgotten: every river has a name. Every mountain has a spirit. Every child is a relative.
And when imbalance hits, the Sacred Law is easy to see. Fires clear deadwood. Floods wash away false foundations. Earthquakes remind us we're not in charge. This isn't the end—it's the clearing.
Look around: Indigenous nations are rising. The Wet'suwet'en block pipelines. Maori win court battles for rivers. Navajo solar farms light up reservations. Young people of different backgrounds, march for land-back, for degrowth, for breath.
Scientists are finally saying what our Elders always knew: "The soil remembers trauma." "The ocean holds memory." Even corporations, slowly and grudgingly, are pivoting toward carbon credits, because denial's no longer profitable.
This era isn't an apocalypse. It's birth. The old order, domination, extraction, "me first"—is folding like a wet map. What's coming? A world where power isn't control, it's care. Where wealth isn't money, it's clean water, strong families, living forests. Where decisions ask: "What will the seventh generation inherit?"
The path? Humble. Courageous. No saviors. Just us, listening to the wind, planting seeds, sharing stories, holding each other accountable.
The storms we're in? They're not warnings. They're contractions. The Human Family is laboring toward something bigger: one home, one circle, one heartbeat.
And if we keep moving forward with prayer, rooted in spiritual values and real relationships, spring will come. Not because we deserve it. Because our Creator, our ancestors, and our Mother Earth still believe in us.
So let us unite and move forward into our new world that is being birthed.
