The true moral character of any government is revealed by how it cares for those at the sunrise of life, our sacred children; those at the twilight of life, our honored elders; and those passing through the shadows of life, the sick, the poor, the vulnerable, and all who need our compassion and support.
A government cannot call itself great because of its wealth, military power, or magnificent buildings. Its greatness must be measured by whether it protects human dignity, lifts those who are suffering, and ensures that no member of the human family is forgotten or left behind.
