Underneath the layers of needed healing, not only in Indigenous communities but in colonized and colonizer communities worldwide, is the core issue of Sexual abuse and Incest.

Sexual Abuse and Incest in Indigenous communities in Canada and the USA directly result from "Christian" and Government operated Indian Residential/Boarding Schools, and other forms of colonial genocide began primarily in the Americas with the arrival of Columbus.

This sexual abuse and incest were very rare in Indigenous communities before colonization and were dealt with very firmly, including castration, banishment, and the killing of the abuser.

Our ancestors clearly understood this kind of behavior could destroy extended families and communities.

This intergenerational trauma, however widespread and however perverted, will be healed, in time, as prophecied!

The Indigenous peoples of the Americas and our relatives across the Pacific to New Zealand are leading this global healing movement as we arise like a phoenix from the ashes of attempted genocide as the colonial systems collapse.

The "Time of Disclosure" came from Indigenous peoples' hard-won and dedicated healing work. It is shared with all who feel called to our Indigenous-led, global healing movement.

May we always remember, in this global healing process, that only abused people abuse people, only hurt people, hurt people, and only colonized people colonize people. This includes what happened in Ireland, Scotland, and beyond in other colonial contexts beyond and before the arrival of Columbus.

The purpose of this healing process is not to blame and shame but to move toward forgiveness, reconciliation, restoration, and the realization of the prior unity and oneness of our Human Family and All Life.
