The Staking Ceremony: From Alkali Lake to the Sacred Run

The First Staking Ceremony was held in Alkali Lake, British Columbia, in 1986, 36 years ago.

The Story of the Community of Alkali Lake, which went from 100% alcoholism to almost complete sobriety, is recorded in the film, the Honor of All inspired a Sobriety movement that continues until today. This movement was inspired by Sister, Phylis Chelsea, who in turn inspired her beloved husband, Andy.

This Sacred Ceremony was passed on by my Hunka Ate Lionel Kinunwa, Comes Home Swimming, Minneconjou Lakota, from Cheyenne River. It was passed on to Ate Lionel by his elders.

Lionel was my father's Koda.

My father asked Ate Lional to mentor me in using the Sacred Pipe and the Seven Sacred Ceremonies of the White Buffalo Calf Woman, which he did, beginning in 1978.

We have never spiritually surrendered, and through the Grace, Never-Failing Eternal Strength, and our Sacred Covenant with our Creator and the Ancient of Days, we never will!

A Staking Ceremony, of the Four World Spiritual Warriors Unity Society, will be held on March 6, at the Conclusion of the WAF 4x4x48 Challenge and the Sacred Run, by members of the Military Special Operations Community and Friends.

This Sacred Run will unfold in the Sam Houston National Forest, March 4-6, 2022. 48 miles in 48 hours!
