The Sacred Family of Thunder, Rain, and Lightning: A Dakota Story

The Sacred Family of Thunder, Lighting, and Rain!

Once upon a time, at the very beginning of creation, there was a spirit called Thunder. Thunder was a mighty force that roamed the skies, making tremendous noise but having no impact on the world below. The Creator of All Good Things looked down upon Thunder and felt compassion for this powerful yet unfulfilled being. The Creator knew that Thunder needed something more, something special.

In the heavens' depths, the Creator created a gentle and kind-hearted spirit named Rain. Rain was delicate and nurturing, with the ability to bring life and joy wherever she went. The Creator smiled as Rain took form, knowing that she would be the perfect match for Thunder.

One day, as Thunder rumbled through the heavens, he encountered Rain for the first time. At that moment, something magical happened. The two spiritual forces were drawn to each other in a way they couldn't explain. They fell in love through the love and grace of our Creator.

Thunder's mighty voice softened as he approached Rain, and Rain's gentle touch calmed the turmoil within Thunder. From that day on, Thunder and Rain became an inseparable and beloved husband and wife.

Whenever Thunder roams the skies, he proudly announces the arrival of his beloved wife, Rain. "Stand up in honor. A Sacred Woman is coming. My wife Rain is coming. Behold, a Sacred Woman is coming," he booms with joy, and the world below prepares to receive the Presence and Gift of Rain.

As for Rain, she descends from the heavens with grace and kindness, showering Mother Earth with her blessings. She waters the plants, replenishes the rivers, and brings joy to all living creatures. The animals dance in delight as Rain's soft touch caresses the land.

But their love for each other was so strong that they yearned for something more. They wanted to create something beautiful together, a symbol of their eternal bond. And so, a child was born in the space between Thunder and Rain - Lightning.

Lightning is a mesmerizing sight to behold. He lights up the skies with every flash like a dazzling artist painting with the most vibrant colors. Thunder and Rain were overjoyed with their precious child and vowed to protect and guide him always.

As Lightning grew, he learned to harness his powers with the guidance of his parents. Thunder taught him how to roar through the heavens with strength and purpose, while Rain showed him how to be gentle and nurturing to the world below. Lightning became a bridge between the two, combining their qualities and becoming a force of balance and harmony in the heavens and Mother Earth.

The Sacred Family of Thunder, Rain, and Lightning brings blessings to the world. Thunder's mighty voice carries the promise of life-giving Rain, and a magnificent display of Lightning accompanies Rain's gentle touch. People listen to the rumble of Thunder and marvel at the beauty of the Lightning in the sky, knowing that Rain will soon follow to bring life to their lands.

The bond between Thunder, Rain, and Lightning grows stronger as the years pass. They continue to roam the skies today, working in harmony to bring balance and beauty to the world. Their love reminds them of the importance of finding one's perfect match and how they created something truly magical together.

And so, the sacred relationship between Thunder, Rain, and Lightning is a cherished story passed down through our Dakota generations.

Still, today, whenever a storm rumbles through the heavens, children and adults alike, who know this story, listen carefully, knowing that they are witnessing the eternal love and harmony of a Family that brings life and joy to the world, a truly Sacred Family.

And we are forever grateful for the compassion and love of the Creator of All Good Things, who brought together Thunder and Rain and gifted the world with the marvel of their son, Lightning.
