The Prophecy of the Everywhere Spirit Made Physically Manifest.
In 1975, when I was in Seattle working for United Indians, a circle of young men came together to seek out elders and spiritual teachers to learn more about different Indigenous spiritual teachings and prophecies. We would join together at my apartment once a week to pray and visit.
Besides my dear brother, Lee Brown, everyone in our circle of about 12 young men has journeyed to the Other Side Camp. We all are destined to follow them in our own time.
Sometimes, I am stunned by how quickly our lives pass. As Chief Crow Foot said,” Life is like the breath of a buffalo on a cold day, the flash of a firefly on a warm summer night, or the shadows vanishing before the setting sun! That is life!
Weekly, we turned the sauna in my apartment complex into a sweat lodge where we would go to pray weekly before we would have a talking circle. If you put cold water on the temperature gauge, a sauna can get very hot, especially if you put water on the rocks and heating elements.
I remember, so clearly, after our first Sweat/Sauna, beloved brother Harold Belmont said, “I thought this was a crazy idea to try to have a Sweat in a Sauna, but after we started singing and praying, a large brown bear appeared in the Sweat and let me know that with a good-heart there is no wrong way to pray.” So we had some scorching and nourishing songs and prayers together!
We always need to use the best tools available to us.
We later built a sweat lodge at the Day Break Star Center. From there, we got permission to construct sweat lodges at the Monroe Correctional Complex (MCC), the McNeil Island Corrections Center, and the Washinton State Penitentiary in Walla Walla. We would sweat with the brothers as often as possible.
In 1976, our circle heard about two Cree Elders from Alberta, Abe Burnstick and Eddie Bellerose, who brought the teachings of the Sweat Lodge to the Sweat House Lodge Treatment Center near Corvallis, Oregon, in 1976. From my knowledge, this is the first place where the Sweat Lodge was first utilized for treating alcoholism and drug abuse. So we went to Corvallis to learn from them.
These beloved elders shared many Prophecies and Spiritual Teachings, including facilitating Talking Circles, sometimes known as Sharing and Healing Circles. We took these Teachings of the Talking Circle back to United Indians and shared them wherever we could, as I am sure many others did the same, who learned from our beloved Elders Abe and Eddie. Talking, Sharing, and Healing Circles have since spread to Europe, the Americas, SE Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and beyond.
When teaching us, Dekshi Abe, older than Dekshi Eddie, would only speak in Cree, and Dekshi Eddie would translate into English. This is because they wanted us to fully understand the pure source of these Sacred Teachings and Prophecies, and they did not come from a book.
One of the Prophecies shared with us we could not understand. However, the other prophecies shared were clear. They told us, in essence:
"You young men will live to see the day when ‘The Everywhere Spirit’ will be physically manifest everywhere on Mother Earth. At that time, all the truth, hidden by lies and deceit, will be uncovered. With this gift from the Creator, we will be will be able to look into the eyes and faces of other Human Beings on the other side of Mother Earth, and they will be able to look into your eyes and faces and speak together. When this happens, use this gift to unite the People.”
They shared other details about the “Everywhere Spirit” that I did not understand until I began to serve as an Associate Professor of Indigenous Education at the University of Lethbridge in 1980. Then, when the Internet was revealed to me, I knew this was precisely what these two Elders had foretold.
We even used the University of Lethbridge’s Main Frame to work out a way so that all the 40 elders and spiritual and community leaders came together, December 27-30, 1982, to spiritually and ceremonially initiate Four Worlds would each have the opportunity to sit together in a small talking circle.
Although, at the time, I did not know how to type or use a computer, I encouraged everyone around me to use digital technology and social media to communicate, learn, uplift, and unify Indigenous Peoples and our Human Family. Other people did my digital work for me, as I believed digital technology and the Internet were far beyond my intellectual capacities.
Since then, I have watched the fulfillment of the Prophecy of the Everywhere Spirit, with greater and greater capacity, depth, and reach, everywhere, all at once. It is clear that everything Dekshi’s Abe and Eddie foretold regarding the "Everywhere Spirit" is true.
At the sametime, we must remember that Just as a hammer can be used to build a beautiful home, it can be used to hit someone in the head. How the hammer is used depends on the spiritual condition and values of the heart that uses the hammer. It is not the advancement of science that concerns me. What is deeply concerning is the growing disunity of our Human Family, including our increasing lack of spiritual values and guidance.
In April 2008, when the Dalai Lama came to Seattle, my digital world was dramatically changed when I was blessed to meet Brother Jon Ramer. Through Brother Jon’s kind and loving mentorship, I have taken some baby steps into the digital world, although I still type with one finger. And with his support and encouragement, we were able to co-author the Deep Social Networks and the Digital 4th Way, which we could implement with Indigenous peoples across SE Asia in 2010-2014.
My son Tiger knows way more than myself. However, I continue to learn a little more every day.
One of my passions is looking everywhere for innovative technologies to inform and unify our Indigenous Peoples and Human Family. The SINE Network is one of those innovative communications technologies.
This is why I took great interest when SINE was able to directly reach more than 100,000 people on UN Global Oneness Day in October 2018. Since then, the SINE Network has lovingly and strategically continued to deepen and expand through the loving, wise, and consultative leadership of Brother Jon and his Beloved Wife, Sister Summer.
In my heart or mind, there is no question that the SINE Network and other related networks directly manifest a critical dimension of these Prophecies. The SINE Network, empowered by World Unity Week and the 99 Days of Peace and Unity, beginning on June 17, 2023, with unity and support, has the growing capacity to reach millions of members of our Human Family on World Peace Day, September 21, 2023. And this is just the beginning!
