The propaganda surrounding US military invincibility was always almost mythical—and maybe the Russians are demonstrating this as we speak in Syria. Just take a hard, honest look at every war, regime change operation, or other intervention since WW2. None have been “successful” and with each we witness greater and greater cost and more unintended consequences. The latest are the least successful so far with devastating consequences that are radiating far beyond the destruction we see in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and Ukraine.
They have are also the most privatized wars the US has fought, and thus, by far, the most costly and the least accountable. Once you introduce privatization you introduce undue political influence. The corruption and lack of accountability are breathtaking—yet no one is really talking about any of this.
The easy answer is to find a scapegoat—it seems that this would be the Obama Administration headed up by that “non-American, non-Christian interloper”, as called by his critics. The point of this propaganda is to make sure the blame isn’t placed where it belongs, on militarism and the neocons and liberal hawks who feed the misinformation and propaganda that pushes these foolish and destructive wars.
This Path of Militarism is only going to take us all into further suffering! The only Path out of this deepening crises, from my perspective, is Humanity walking up to the Spiritual Reality of the Oneness of the Human Family and all Life and that the Hurt of One is the Hurt of All!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
