We were molded from the clay of love, and within the deepest chamber of every human heart the Creator has placed a living spark of that same eternal love. Yet the distractions of the passing world can cause us to forget our true nature. We become occupied with possessions, recognition, conflict, fear, and the demands of the self, while the Beloved waits quietly within us, nearer than our own breath.
The heart is a sacred garden. Whatever we repeatedly think about, desire, speak of, and act upon becomes a seed planted within it. When resentment, jealousy, pride, or attachment are allowed to grow, they can crowd out the rose of love. But when the heart is cultivated through prayer, forgiveness, service, humility, truthfulness, and faithfulness, it becomes a beautiful dwelling place for the Divine Presence.
To love the Creator is not only to speak words of devotion. It is to live according to sacred guidance, to turn away from what harms the soul, and to protect love as carefully as we protect our eyesight and our very life. True love transforms conduct. It teaches us to become trustworthy, compassionate, disciplined, generous, and faithful in our relationships with the whole Human Family.
Earth and heaven cannot contain the Infinite Mystery, yet the faithful human heart can reflect that boundless Presence. This is one of the greatest mysteries of our existence: the vastness of divine love may become visible through a single human being who walks humbly, serves selflessly, forgives sincerely, and remains steadfast upon the sacred path.
Therefore, we must make love our treasure. We must plant it in the garden of the heart, protect it from the weeds of selfishness, nourish it through remembrance and service, and allow its fragrance to reach everyone whose life touches our own. In doing so, we gradually remember who we truly are: beings created from love, called to live in love, and destined to return to the Source of Love.
