The Four Horses: Revelation and Black Elk's Vision

In the Book of Revelation, symbolically, the Red Horse, of the East, represents War the Rider, of the South, on the Pale/Yellow Horse, represents Pestilence, the Rider, on the Black Horse, of the West represents famine, and the Rider on the White Horse, of the North, represents the Conquerer. These are the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse.

From my Dakota perspective and my understanding of Black Elk’s Vision, the Red Horse, of the East, represents Peace, the Yellow Horse, of the South, represents Healing, the Black Horse, of the West represents prosperity, and the White Horse of the North represents, Wisdom, Oneness, Humility, Cooperation, Participation, and Consultation.

Painting of four horses galloping across an earthy orange-brown background: a white horse marked with lightning and a cloud, a red horse with a medicine wheel, a dark purple-black horse, and a yellow horse.
