The Eighth Fire ignited in Hidalgo, Mexico, on October 28 is spreading rapidly across Mexico and beyond.
With thanksgiving to sister Alenka, it was carried from Mexico to Slovenia and then to COP 28. It was prayerfully ignited on December 1, in the desert of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), facilitated by our respected and esteemed Brother. Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Nuaimi, the Green Sheikh. He was joined by 35 relatives who had come from around Mother Earth to attend COP 28.
It was then carried to Sri Lanka, where it was ignited on December 9 by our Vedda relatives, who were that island’s original inhabitants before the 6th century BCE and the arrival of Ethnic colonizers from India, and later the Portuguese and Spanish.
The 8th Fire Ceremony was ignited in their ancient way, facilitated by their Hereditary Chief, Uruvarige VannIlaththo, whose lineage goes back to the beginning of their history.
Despite the colonization and pain they have suffered from the ongoing colonization, which goes back more than 2000 years, they have held on to their Sacred Fire and their cultural identity until today. Our prayer is that they may arise like a phoenix from the ashes in the coming days and years,
The 8th Fire that will open the 4th year of Enlightening Our Way Together on December 15 will be prayerfully ignited in the Catskill Mountains of New York.
