Combine the cost of slavery, with illegally sized Native American lands, broken treaties and promises that provided all the land, compensation for the massacres, illegal hangings and executions for trying to protect our Indigenous lands, as well as, the impacts of Residential and Boarding’s Schools, etc. and the on-going poverty and suffering, the bill owed by the USA, Canada and other colonizing nations is far beyond $ 6.4 trillion.
All of this, including slavery was "Divinely Mandated by God" via the Papal Bulls of 1455-1493, and resulting Doctrine of Discovery!
This is why unified, global efforts are growing, to have the Papal Bulls of 1455-1493, and resulting Doctrine of Discovery formally denounced by Pope Francis. This includes, the issuance of a formal apology to all Indigenous Peoples and other members of the Human Family, who were unjustly colonized and enslaved, with the full understanding that this global colonization process and resulting legal system has created immeasurable suffering and damage and continuing inter- generational poverty, injustice, violence and disunity.
The next question is where did all the money and resources generated go that was made on this illegal theft of land, slavery and all gold, silver, cultural art and other resources stolen by the colonizers? Finally, how and when is this theft going to be paid back.
