The Cost of War and the Call to Wage Peace

Dekshi Vine Deloria Jr. told it as he saw it in Custer Died for Your Sins, in 1969. The economy of the USA is still based on war. $2.2 Trillion was just spent in Afghanistan. By November 2019, the USA spent $ 6.4 trillion on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and Pakistan.

Of course, since November 2019, that $6.4 trillion has gone up. Afghanistan is costing $300 million per day. This is since 2001.

And this is the military spending by the USA, in 2020 compared to other nations. Insane!

The Russian "Big Bad Wolf" spends less than Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, India, Saudi Arabia, China, and the USA.

Military Spending By Country 2020

The United States ($750 billion)

China ($237 billion)

Saudi Arabia ($67.6 billion)

India ($61 billion)

United Kingdom ($55.1 billion)

Germany ($50 billion)

Japan ($49 billion)

Russia ($48 billion)

The USA spends more than 15 times more than the Russians and more than three times the amount of China for military spending in 2020.

Very sick, and unbalanced, from my perspective.
