The Prophecy of the Reunion of the Condor and Eagle is one of the most powerful, visionary, and living prophecies of our time. Yet what is commonly shared about it today has drifted away from its original meaning and spirit.
This prophecy was kept sacred for centuries by the Quechua and Aymara peoples of the Andes, particularly in the region around Lake Titicaca. The Q’ero people were among the principal keepers and protectors of this teaching. It had already been prophesied before Christopher Columbus ever set sail.
The prophecy remained unknown in North America until it was fulfilled in 1971. This marked the moment when the prophecy began to spread spiritually across the hemisphere, first among Indigenous peoples and then to other members of our Human Family.
The first time this prophecy was publicly shared on a major continental scale was at the historic First Continental Encounter of Indigenous Peoples, held in Quito, Ecuador, in July 1990. At that gathering, the prophecy was presented with great power and beauty.
The message from Quito declared:
“When the Eagle of the North and the Condor of the South come together, there will be no force that can hold us back.”
It further taught that thousands of years ago, Pachakamak, the God of Time, created Inti (the Sun) and Quilla (the Moon) from the union of His tears.
From this sacred birth emerged the peoples of Abya Yala (the Americas), and with them appeared the Kuntur of Urin (Condor of the South) and the Anga de Hanan (Eagle of the North).
The prophecy spoke of the Union of the Tears of the Condor of Urin and the Eagle of Hanan. This sacred union would cauterize the wounds of the people, fortify their spirits, bodies, and minds, and mark the beginning of the liberation of Indigenous nations.
This message delivered in Quito in 1990 was not a new teaching. It was exactly the same original message that was revealed, step by step, when the prophecy was fulfilled in 1970- 1971.
The foundational and original meaning of the prophecy, according to the elders, is the reunification of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas, North, Central, and South.
The Eagle represents the North, the Quetzal represents Central America, the Hummingbird represents the Amazon, and the Condor represents the South. All of these sacred nations were meant to fly together once again.
Long before the arrival of the Europeans, the Indigenous peoples of this hemisphere were already connected through vast kinship trails and extensive trade networks that stretched across the entire Americas. We made relatives with one another. We lived in a relationship. The idea that the Eagle represents the “intellectual mind of Western society” and the Condor represents the “heart of Indigenous people” is a later interpretation made by European relatives. This was never part of the original prophecy.
Our elders have always taught that the longest road any human being will ever walk is from the head to the heart. This balance between mind and heart was already deeply rooted in Indigenous societies across the entire Americas long before European contact.
The real crisis facing the human family today is not that one group has the mind and another has the heart. The crisis is that the mind of modern humanity has become dangerously separated from the wisdom, compassion, and sacredness of the heart.
Our Creator would never punish His faithful children. Just as the story of Joseph, what others intended for evil, the Creator used for a higher purpose. The 500 years of suffering, colonization, trauma, and separation were not a punishment. They were a long winter of preparation.
The prophecy is being fulfilled in stages. First comes the reunification of Indigenous peoples across the Americas and beyond. From this restored foundation of Indigenous unity, the greater healing will flow — the coming together of the entire human family in a new planetary civilization based on justice, balance, and harmony with all life.
