Ta-ah Amy George Stands on Unceded Tsleil-Waututh Territory

Tsleil-Waututh Nation Elder, Ta-ah (Grand-mother) Amy George, daughter of Chief Dan George, will be accompanying Grand Chief Stewart Phillip to the top of Burnaby Mountain. If the RCMP foolishly arrest Ta-ah for crossing a " line" on unceded, unsurrendered Tsleil-Waututh Nation Territory they will not only violate the unceded, unsurrendered Aboriginal Legal Order, the International Legal Order, but , as well, the Canadian Supreme Court's landmark Tsilhqot'in Land Title Case decision of June 26, 2014.

The Tsleil-Waututh Nation was never properly consulted by KInder Morgan or the National Energy Board regarding the expansion of the Kinder Morgan pipeline. In fact, the Tsleil-Waututh Nation has legally and justly challenged this reality to the Canadian Court of Appeal.

With this understanding, tommorrow beginning at 10AM on Burnaby Mountain, a great victory for Indigenous Peoples will unfold, one way or another ! Our hands are up to Ta-ah Amy George, the Tsleil-Waututh Nation and Grand Chief Stewart Phillip and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs!
