Shunkmanu Teaches His Grandchildren of the Condor, Eagle and 8th Fire

In a tranquil forest alive with the sounds of nature, Shunkmanu walked hand-in-hand with his four grandchildren: Oliver, Maya, Natayu, and Ella. They made this journey daily to exercise and exchange the wisdom that keeps the people strong.

Today, Shunkmanu felt an urgency in his spirit. It was time to speak of greater matters—the Prophecy of the Reunion of the Condor and Eagle, the Lighting of the 8th Fire, and the Most Great Peace that will heal a fractured world.

"My dear ones," Shunkmanu began, looking at each grandchild's face, "do you know why we refer to Earth as our Mother?"

Natayu, with eyes wide, said, "Because she nurtures us and gives us everything we need to live."

"Exactly," smiled Shunkmanu. "And like a human body, our Earth Mother was whole and perfect at her creation. However, she has been afflicted by grave disorders and maladies."

"What kinds of disorders, Grandfather?" Maya asked, her eyes reflecting her deep concern.

Shunkmanu sighed. "Our world is guided by leaders, elected representatives who should be wise physicians, healing Mother Earth and her Peoples. Yet, many have failed. Rather than healing, they have caused more harm, acting out of self-interest or ignorance."

Oliver furrowed his brow. "Is there no hope then?"

Shunkmanu stopped and gestured for the children to gather around. "Ah, but there is a prophecy—the Reunion of the Condor and Eagle. It tells of a time when the wisdom of the North and the South will come together to light the 8th Fire, bringing forth an era of the Most Great Peace."

"The 8th Fire? What does that mean?" Layla inquired, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"The 8th Fire symbolizes a new understanding, a new way of living that honors all members of our Human Family and Mother Earth herself. It can only be lit when all peoples unite in a common cause, a shared understanding that we are all connected," explained Shunkmanu.

Maya looked pensive. "So, we need an 'all-powerful, inspired Physician' for the healing of the world?"

"Yes, my child," Shunkmanu nodded. "But understand, this Physician is not just one person, but a collective consciousness, a united effort of all peoples working for the common good."

Natayu looked hopeful, "So the Most Great Peace is not just a dream?"

"It's more than a dream; it's a destiny. But it requires each of us to be stewards, to walk the Red Road of justice, love, truth, righteousness and lead with wisdom, just as the prophecy of the Condor and Eagle foretells," said Shunkmanu, his eyes twinkling like stars in the night sky.

"And how do we start, Grandfather?" Oliver asked, looking up at Shunkmanu as they resumed their walk.’

"Ah," said Shunkmanu, squeezing Oliver's hand gently, "it starts with walks like this one, where we share wisdom, love, and hope for a future where all members of our Human Family live in peace and unity."

As they walked back towards their home, the fire and light in the hearts of Shunkmanu’s Grandchildren was like the 8th Fire, aglow with hope, responsibility, and a newfound understanding of their role in the world's healing journey.

And so, they walked on, each step a commitment, each word a prayer, each breath a promise to be part of the Most Great Peace their Grandfather spoke of—a peace that would one day embrace the entire Human Family.

Shunkmanu will share more with his grandchildren about the Prophecies in the coming days.
