In Mexico, this Sacred Dance, Aztec style, emerged from our relatives of the South coming North to Sun Dance with the Oceti Sakowin. Many of these Sun Dancers learned through the spiritual guidance of elder brother, Chief Leonard Crow Dog, and the many years of Wiwayang Wacipi's Crow Dog's Paradise.
The same happened when Tahansi Galen Drapeau Sr. and other Ihanktowan relatives traveled South for four years to pass the Wiwayang Wacipi to our Indigenous peoples of Columbia.
I remember in the 1970s when Brother Papa San, Devere Eastman, and others started to go to Europe, Abya Yala, and other places on thier Zuya, followed by Elder Brother Crow Dog, Tahansi's Galen, Loren Zephier, and many others.
Some relatives strongly disagreed when we stood up and shared our Sacred Teachings as best we could, as Lala Frank Fools Crow instructed!
Do we really think our beloved Wakan Tanka would punish those who have followed the Red Road as best they could since the beginning of time? The past 500 years have been a spiritual preparation for the wisdom and guidance needed to address and heal what we are facing as a world family, seen and unseen!
