I am now in Panama City after returning from the 2nd Intergenerational Indigenous Women's Summit of Panama, Cumbre De Mujeres Indigenas De Abya Yala of Panama, in Soloy, Ngäbe Buglé Comarca hosted by the Coordinadora de Mujeres. I arrived in Panama last evening. The Coordinadora de Mujeres represent more than 120,000 Ngabe Bugle Women. TheIr Council of Ngabe Bugle Women is elected by a General Council of 7000 representatives of Ngäbe Buglé women.
What is unique regarding the Ngäbe Buglé Comarca is the Ngäbe Buglé women represent more 70% of the population. The Summit was great and was wonderfully planned and implemented with a great volunteer effort and few material resources.
I arrived in Panama City last evening. I leave late this afternoon for Toronto, and then on to Vancouver. I will arrive home in White Rock early tomorrow morning. Looking forward to being home for the New Year! Looking forward to spending time with my beloved wife and son and our extended family. On December 22 we will have a Pipe Ceremony at Tonska Rueben's.
