Koda Darcy and the other global relatives we are traveling with, for U Day and Interfaith Harmony Week, just returned to Addis Ababa, after a short but outstanding visit to Lalibela. Because Lalibela is a Sacred Place, it is a place of Prayer and Peace.
At the same time, because of growing social violence and upheaval, in the region surrounding Lalibela, the Government of Ethiopia cut off all internet, and cell phone connections.
Therefore, this is the first time we have been able to communicate to friends and relatives for several days. This was excellent teaching on how much we depend on the internet and cellphones to communicate and how digital communications are an integral part of many of our lives!
Anything could have happened and no one, but ourselves, would have known! Are you ready for your internet and cell phone connections be restricted or cut off!
