Remembering our march to the Summit of the Americas, April 2015, in Panama City to deliver our Message from the Indigenous Summit of the Americas to the 36 Prime Ministers and Presidents of the 36 Nation States attending, was briefly stopped by a U.S.A. trained SWAT team.
Our prayers opened the door, prepared the way, made safe the path, and brought us to our goal. In the end, we delivered our message to the President of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and via Panama's Minister of Justice to the other 35 Prime Ministers and Presidents.
In the previous Six Summits of the Americas, there was always funding from the OAS and the hosting Nation to have an Indigenous Summit of the Americas. At the last minute, the Government of Panama cut off promised funding and told the Hosting Indigenous Organizations that they needed to understand that Indigenous Peoples were part of the Civil Society.
With the kind and loving support of the Shift Network, we were able to raise about $60,000 in 4 days and the Indigenous Summit of the Americas was actualized. Thank you, Shift Network. Without your support all that emerged from the Summit, that is still manifesting today, would not have happened!
