I sat on my father's shoulders so I could watch President Eisenhower speak at the dedication of Mc Nary Dam, September 23, 1954. This was a President that understood first hand the results of war! He also clearly warned about the rise of the Military Industrial Complex! This is one of his quotes that everyone needs to understand!
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower
