Remembering My Unchi Lyma Deloria Lane, 100 Years On

My thanksgiving to my Hunkasi, Bobby Sherwood, for sending this remembrance in the Mobridge Paper on the 100th Anniversary of the passing of my Unchi Lyma Deloria Lane, the day we gathered for four nights and days and to prayerfully unite and ignite Four Worlds on December 27, 1982.

The spiritual reality is, Mitakuye owas'iƞ, our ancestors are closer than our closest vein, urging each of us to move forward in unprecedented, unified action and fulfill the sacred prophecies we have given us to manifest.

Newspaper column by Marlys Jundt and Peggy Dixon headed "100 years ago, December 27, 1923," reporting the Wakpala community's sorrow at the death of Mrs. Fred Lane, daughter of Rev. Deloria, from tuberculosis.
