Remembering a Feast After the Pipe Ceremony in Vancouver

Remembering relaxing and having a feast after a most wonderful Pipe Ceremony, with 22 Pipe Carriers and several hundred community relatives at the Vancouver Friendship Centre, December 17th, 2019.

It turned out that it was exactly 40 years, to the day, that I was a witness of my dear brother, Robert Nahanee, and my dear friend, Terry Lewis, entering the Smoke House.

The haze you see in the photo is sage. They opened the doors, but the smoke would not leave. It was a great day.

A group of people seated and standing around a long table with plates of food in a gymnasium hazy with sage smoke, with Northwest Coast art on the walls and a crowd behind.
