Remembering 1986: Indigenous Healing and Wellness in Alaska

I can't believe it, 1986. 34 years ago is like yesterday!

Very honored to travel with our relatives from Alkali Lake, and a Four Team, including my beloved Mother and Father. The Indigenous peoples of Alaska were doing healing and wellness work before many members of our Human Family understood there was human and community healing and wellness.

Our Indigenous counselors and healers address intergenerational trauma and internalized oppression with more in-depth skills and experience than the large majority of mainstream therapists. This is because they have more experience in dealing with depths of pain and suffering, including wide-spread sexual abuse and incest, a legacy of Christian Boarding Schools.

I visualize a time in the near future when a digital platform will be developed for our Indigenous Counsellors, Healers, and Elders, to share their counseling and healing experience with our Human Family.
