Wonderful to reconnect with my dear sister Dr. Sousan Abadian, as we move toward the end of the war and the beginning of Peace on Earth by 2030.
I met Sister Sousan when I was an Associate Professor at the University of Lethbridge in 1987 after she saw "the Honor of All, the Story of Alkali Lake " and begin to study the work of Four Worlds and the healing movement that was emerging with Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island, particularly in Western Canada.
This healing did come from outside, it came from the heart and actions of Indigenous peoples, themselves. As one of the 16 Indigenous Guiding Principles for Building a Sustainable and Harmonious World states:
Development Comes From Within
Others may help and assist, but the process of human and community development unfolds from within each person, relationship, family , community, tribe, and nation.
Together, with a great team of 7th Generation leader from Western Washington University, we are distilling the collective healing and transformation work of Four Worlds and the communities we have had the honor and privilege to work with over the past 54 years.
We are now applying our Indigenous healing knowledge and wisdom gained from addressing the cultural and physical genocide of the past 100's of years to our current deepening global destruction caused by the Papal Bulls of the 1453-1493, the loss of spirituality, the greed of materialism, and the unresolved intergenerational trauma, of other members of our human family, that was brought to the Americas.
While this article was written more than 20 years ago, it gives a very insightful understanding of where we were then, and where we are now. There is more to share, but I will put a bookmark here, especially the great advancement of the First Nations of British Columbia and beyond.
