Pete Catches' Teaching: Don't Be an Imitator, Be Yourself

Can an Indigenous relative play bridge? Yes! We have the full potentiality to do whatever we choose to dedicate ourselves to do! I remember when I Sun Danced at Sitting Bull's Camp on the Standing Rock in the early 1980's with Pete Catches. One of the many great teachings he shared with me is, "Don't be an imitator, be yourself!"

An elderly Indigenous man with long dark hair and a deeply lined face speaks and gestures outdoors, wearing a checkered shirt and neckerchief, with a grassy hillside and fence posts behind him.
