From my perspective, this isn't about parties or picking sides. This is simply our current economic reality. Today, 2026, the top 1% holds 31.6% of all U.S. household wealth while the bottom 50% holds just 2.5%. U.S. billionaires' combined wealth sits around $9 trillion. President Trump reported over $1.4 billion in crypto-related income in 2025 alone.
Oil prices have swung hard amid tensions with Iran. Brent crude spiked as high as $118 a barrel earlier this year and is now trading around $94. Major oil companies are raking it in: Exxon posted $14.5 billion in profit last quarter, and Chevron hit a record $12.1 billion. At the same time, defense contractors like Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman are sitting on record backlogs of $230 billion and $105 billion, respectively, with strong 2026-2027 forecasts.
