My Beloved Relatives! In every moment of our lives, we are called to walk the path that brings security, peace, and balance to our Human Family and all life. Our Creator, Wakan Tanka, the Great Mystery, whispers within us: In this sacred day, whatever cleanses us from corruption and turns our hearts toward peace and calm, this is the Sacred Path.
Please, Creator, guide us to rise with courage, so that through the vision of our leaders, the wisdom of our Elders, and the prayers of the People, we may find a faithful and wise direction. How much longer will we wander in confusion? How long will greed and injustice steal the breath of our children? How long must the storms of chaos shake the lodges of humankind? How long will discord and disunity wound the face of Mother Earth?
Now is the time, my relatives, to awaken. The Sacred Hoop of Life is broken, yet it can be mended. The rivers, the mountains, the winds, the fire, all are waiting for us to remember. Wakan Tanka has not abandoned us. The way is still before us. If we unite our hearts, if we walk in humility and truth, if we lift each other as brothers and sisters, then we will find the Straight Path.
This message is not for the powerful alone, nor for the learned alone. It is for the grandmother who sings prayers at dawn, for the child who laughs by the river, for the worker who labors with honest hands. It is for every heart that longs for peace. We are one family, and only by standing together will we heal the wounds of division.
