Memories of an Undefeated Wrestling Season, 1964-1965

50 Years Ago! Had my very best year in 1964-1965. I was undefeated for the season with 38 wins-no defeats, Fastest Pin-1O Seconds, Most Takedowns-48, Most Pins-28, Highest Score, 33-1(I let my opponent go for 1, so I could take him down for 2.)Won the University of Washington Invitational, The Washington State Junior College Championships and The Canadian-USA Championship at the Canadian National Centennial Exposition in Vancouver.

I was not a gifted athlete like my beloved daughters, Deloria Many Grey Horses and Shannon Lane, but I worked extra hard. My mindset when I went into a match was that I knew:

1) I had run farther and longer than my opponents,

2) I had lifted more weights than my opponents,

(3 I had practiced harder and longer than my opponents and,

4) I wanted to win more than my opponents. Worked most of the time!

Now I am an old man with some good memories!
