Love is the first law of life. It is the sacred purpose placed within our Human Family by our Creator, the Great Spirit, Wakan Tanka. We were not made to live in conflict, jealousy, greed, and endless dispute. When we turn against one another, we become trapped in the material world and forget the sacred breath that lives within us.
Much of the world has forgotten this spiritual foundation. Many people are chasing only possessions, power, status, and comfort, while the deeper gifts of the spirit are pushed aside. When human beings forget prayer, compassion, humility, and love, they begin to live only from appetite, fear, and competition. They forget who they truly are.
We were not placed on Mother Earth to live only for ourselves. We were given a higher responsibility: to love one another, to care for the vulnerable, to protect life, to walk in balance, and to become a blessing to the generations yet unborn.
To live without love is to become a prisoner of the material world. To live with love is to remember our sacred origin, our sacred purpose, and our sacred responsibility to all our relatives.
