Wopida Tanka! It was a great day of Honoring and Giving Thanksgiving to the young Wakpala Water Protectors! Hundreds of relatives joined us.
Thirty-four handmade Star Quilts were given, specially designed T-Shirts were shared with all, a great Thanksgiving Feast was shared, all the funds need to build a new basketball court for the young people of Wakpala was raised, and almost enough funds for a new playground have been raised, as well!
The Wakpala Spiritual Unity Society was formed, and funds contributed for having a monthly Feast and Consultation with all Wakpala Spiritual Traditions, Sundancer's, Sweat Lodge Keepers. The Episcopalians, Catholics, Baha'is. Presbyterians and others.
It was agreed that everyone's way of praying should be given equal and full respect and honor! No more disunity over how relatives may choose to pray! Disunity is the greatest disease of Community. No Unity, No Development!
The purpose of the Wakpala Spiritual Unity Society was to mend the Sacred Hoop, to be good relations to all and to join hearts and minds together to Protect and Restore Mother Earth and Uplift all Members of the Community of Wakpala in good health, prosperity, and economic well being!
