Honoring the Emberá Nation and Panama's Indigenous Marine Sanctuaries

In Huston, Texas waiting for a flight to Vancouver! Had a wonderful filled 8 days in Panama. It was great to travel with Brother Douglas Tolchin and see his Global Vision of Bioregional Marine Sanctuaries actualize in Panama.

I am especially inspired by the creation of the Emberá Nation. All their Chiefs joined the collective spiritual forces and natural resources of their three General Assemblies and Territories into one Emberá Nation! They will formally announce the establishment of the Emberá Nation Bio-Regional Marine Sanctuary at the Paris Climate Change Summit at the Notre Dame Cathedral on the 6th of December. Colonial Nation States, ready or not!

Brother Candido Mezua was instrumental in forging this historic step forward.I was humbled to tears when all the Embera Chiefs and their Assistants honored me with a surprise dinner of appreciation on an Embera owned boat in the harbor of Panama City. The food was more than outstanding, as well as, their very very

gracious hospitality! The men did the cooking and serving!

This picture taken after our great dinner and the map of the Indigenous Bioregional Sanctuaries of Panama, says it all!

A group of men gathered under a tent at night, reaching their hands together into the center in a gesture of unity after a dinner on a boat in Panama City's harbor.

Map titled "Santuarios Indígenas de Panamá" showing the Ngäbe-Buglé, Guna Yala and Emberá-Wounaan marine sanctuaries and a vision to restore animal populations to over 50% of historic levels.
