In July 1985, I had the great honor and pleasure to meet my long time brother Bill Smythe. We have had many great adventures together over the years! He is one of those relatives that it is natural to have many belly-laughs each time you visit!
When we meet, he had already rigorously studied Aikido for eight years. This year he was given a 5th Degree Black Belt, in Japan, from the son of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. As well he completed 40 years of rigorously practicing Aikido. This is a recent video of brother Bill at 69, demonstrating his skills as an Aikido Master.
This demonstration may seem choreographed, but it is not. If brother Bill's opponents did not surrender and flow with his physical strength and spiritual energy, they would be severely hurt.
