October 7, 2017. The Ground Breaking Ceremony for the new Wakpala Basketball Ball Court, Playground, and Community Park and Gardens was held today. The Ceremony was led by Vernon Iron Cloud, grandson of Gall, renowned Hunkpapa Warrior and Chief.
Our heartfelt thanksgiving to the more than 300 individual donors from around Mother Earth and our organizational supporters, the Pacha Mama Alliance, the Shift Network, the United Religions Initiative, Compassion Games International, Unify and the Four Worlds International Institute. This is where my father Mato Gi was born on January 11, 1915.
Especially thankful to hear the excitement of these young Takoja's. I can feel deep in my heart that my father and all other relatives, in the Other Side Camp, are very thankful, excited and joyful, as well!
