Heartfelt for our relatives in Winnepeg, especially the loss of many elders.
For instance, an outbreak was first declared at this care home on Sept. 15, 2020. The outbreak ended on Jan. 12, 2021. This is a care home for Indigenous elders.
During that time, 29 residents died of COVID-19. In total, 119 residents tested positive and 39 staff members, were also diagnosed with COVID-19. The same thing happened to Indigenous elders in care homes.
