Gratitude for Tonska, Sundance Chief Rueben George

Very thankful for Tonska, Sundance Chief, Rueben George! When I used to visit, his uncle, beloved brother, Chief Leonard George, in the late 1980's, when the Tsleil Waututh Nation, was called the Burrard Band, Brother Leonard and I would be the only older people, at Brother's Len's Sweat. We had to carry the rocks in ourselves.

The only other attendees, at the Sweat, were this very energetic group of young boys, Brother Len' sons and nephews. Sometimes they would look in to see what we were doing or sit quietly by the fire. Of course, as fathers, we always included them in our prayers. One of those young boys was Tonska Rueben!

We can clearly see Tonska Rueben's, great, ever-growing, spiritual and physical energy. Yet, what Tonska Rueben, is destined to accomplish, in Service to the People, with the dedicated, spiritual, unified, support of friends and relatives, that stand beside him, has just begun to manifest!

Rueben George, a younger man with long dark hair in a T-shirt bearing a portrait of a Native chief, smiles with his arm around a white-haired elder in a geometric-patterned jacket.
