My Great-Great Grandparents died on the Trail of Tears, but my Great-Grandfather, John Wesley Parker, thankfully made it to Oklahoma. My Grandmother, Ella, my mother’s mother, told me many stories of those old days.
Grandma Ella was with me from the day I was born and regularly until she went to the Other Side Camp.
She told me when I was a little boy, I asked her, “Grandma, who are the wildest the Chickasaws or the Dakota’s?” She said the Dakota’s. Then I said, “Grandma, that’s what I am!”
