The Global Canoe Event on the Hudson River will be one the comprehensive Indigenous-led actions in New York, surrounding the United Nations, April 21-22. These activities have been carefully designed to bring global awareness to the vastly different Indigenous perspectives and solutions, regarding the growing world's climate change crises and the impotent, shallow Paris Climate Change Agreement that will be signed by "Politicians" from over 130 Nations on April 22, 2016, at the UN, in New York.
The primary significance of the signing of the Paris Climate Change Agreement is that finally, "Politicians" will formally agree that there is something called " Climate Change" and that human beings are contributing to this crises!
In spite of the courageous, heartfelt actions taken by the Indigenous Environmental Network, the Mesoamerican Alliance of Peoples and Forests, the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact and so many others, at COP 21 in Paris this Agreement is fundamentally flawed! It is flawed because the vast majority of Nation States chose, that the Paris Climate Change, they will signing on Earth Day, will not empower or include Indigenous Peoples, as having any meaningful role in addressing Climate Change.
This decision by "Global Politicians" and their Multinational Corporate funders and handlers, will prove to be a very vain, grave and unwise decision. This misguided action will cause more unnecessary suffering to our Human Family and our future generations, as a result of their impotent approach to increasing Climate Change!
