I loved to play football. At the time, I took no prisoners. I played almost as rough and mean in practice as I did during a regular game with other schools. But with other Blue Devil opponents, I had no mercy in football, wrestling or track. I used every skill, including the psychological intimidation of my opponents, to win.
Today, I am in complete unity with my father, who was a great boxer, with over 250 amateur and professional fights. He told me a few years before he died, "Son, if I had my life to do over again, I would never participate in a sport that included hurting another human being!"
