Disunity, Intergenerational Trauma and the Four Bad Medicines

The greatest challenge facing our Indigenous Peoples and all members of our Human Family is disunity. At the foundation of this disunity is Intergenerational Trauma, and resulting, Lateral Violence and Internalized Oppression.

This Intergenerational Trauma, Internalized Oppression, and Lateral Violence is fueled, deepened, and sustained by the "Four Bad Medicines."

These "Bad Medicines" or "Spiritual Sicknesses, were shared after a NAC Meeting, in April 1981, Hobbema, Alberta, by an Elder Dene (Navaho) Road Man, who had been doing healing work for many years.

After more than 40 years, it is clear, both from personal experiences and healing work with individuals and communities, that these "Bad Medicines" are continuing to destroy our communities and prevent us from fulfilling our prophecies and destiny!

"No Unity, No Development"

Unity means oneness. Without unity, the universal oneness that makes (seemingly) separate human beings into ‘community’ is impossible. Disunity is the primary disease of community."

One of the Principles from the "Sixteen Guiding Principles for Building a Sustainable, Harmonious, and Prosperous World."

We are One Human Family Intimately Related to All Life and the Hurt of One is the Hurt of All and the Healing of One is the Healing of All!
