CONODEPOA to Host the Union Gathering for Latin America

On 3/21/2026, the 4th Union of the Condor, Hummingbird, Quetzal, and Eagle Equinox Ceremony to Unify Humanity and Restore Mother Earth was ignited with the 8th Fire. completing the Four-Year Spiritual Cycle that began on 3/21/2023, and beginning a new Four-Year Spiritual Cycle that will be completed on 3/21/30.

The Fourth Gathering of the Union of the Conor and Eagle, in fulfillment of these Equinox Ceremony and Prayers, will take place in British Columbia in August.

Prior to the Union's Gathering in August, the primary Union Gathering for Latin America will be organized and hosted by Four Worlds Partner in Mexico, CONODEPOA: the National Council for the Development of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican Peoples (Consejo Nacional para el Desarrollo de los Pueblos Indígenas y Afromexicanos)—emerges as a bridge of unity, coordination, and collective voice among the diverse Indigenous Nations and Afro-Mexican communities of Mexico.

Rooted in a spirit of self-determination, cultural revitalization, and justice, this organization works to strengthen collaboration between communities that have long carried the wisdom, resilience, and spiritual foundations of the land, yet have often been divided or marginalized by colonial structures and modern systems of governance.

At its heart, CONODEPOA is not simply an administrative body—it is a living circle of representation, bringing together leaders, Elders, and community voices to restore unity across the 68 recognized Indigenous peoples of Mexico, while also uplifting the identity, rights, and contributions of Afro-Mexicanos, whose histories are deeply interwoven with the cultural and spiritual fabric of the nation.

By fostering dialogue, shared initiatives, and coordinated action, CONODEPOA strengthens these communities' ability to speak with one voice in national and international spaces while still honoring the uniqueness of each people, language, and tradition.

The People's Represented: A Living Tapestry of Nations

Mexico is one of the most culturally rich and diverse regions in the world. According to available data, there are approximately 16.9 million Indigenous people in Mexico—about 15% of the total population. However, when broader definitions are included—such as those who identify culturally, linguistically, or ancestrally as Indigenous—the number often exceeds 25 million, reflecting a much deeper and more expansive presence across the country.

In addition, Afro-Mexicanos—whose roots trace back centuries through African diasporic histories in Mexico—number around 2.5-3 million people, representing roughly 2–3% of the population. These communities, particularly concentrated in regions such as Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Veracruz, have only recently gained formal constitutional recognition (in 2019), marking an important step toward visibility, dignity, and inclusion.

Together, Indigenous Peoples and Afro-Mexicanos represent tens of millions of relatives, forming a powerful and diverse human foundation that carries ancient knowledge systems, languages, ecological wisdom, and spiritual traditions essential to the healing and renewal of Mother Earth.

CONODEPOA’s Role in the Union Gathering for Latin America

In this moment of global transformation, CONODEPOA is playing a historic and unifying role, as Four Worlds' Partners, fostering mutual trade and development and organizing and hosting the Union of the Condor, Hummingbird, Quetzal, and Eagle Gathering for Mexico and Latin America. They will elect Union representatives to come to Canada.

Their leadership reflects a deep commitment to ensuring that these gatherings are not external impositions, but are instead grounded in the sovereignty, voice, and vision of the Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples themselves.

By hosting and supporting these gatherings, CONODEPOA helps to:

Unite the 68 Indigenous Nations of Mexico with a shared voice while honoring their diversity. Integrate Afro-Mexican leadership and perspectives into continental dialogue and action,

Anchor the Union Gathering within the cultural, spiritual, and territorial realities of Mexico. Facilitate alliances across Abya Yala, connecting Mexico with Indigenous relatives from North, Central, and South America. Strengthen bioregional and continental cooperation, especially in areas such as cultural revitalization, ecological restoration, and peacebuilding

In this way, CONODEPOA is a pillar of the Sacred Hoop of Many Hoops, helping to weave together the North, Center, and South into a living expression of unity.

A Moment of Destiny and Responsibility

As CONODEPOA steps forward to host and guide the Union Gathering for Latin America, it does so at a time when the world is searching for new pathways—pathways rooted not in domination, but in relationship, reciprocity, and responsibility.

The presence of millions of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican relatives, standing together through this organization, represents not only a demographic reality but a spiritual and cultural force capable of shaping a new future.

This is more than coordination—it is the reawakening of a continental consciousness, where the peoples of the land remember who they are, reconnect across borders, and step forward together to Unite Humanity and restore Mother Earth.
