After Chief Gall became a Christian, in 1890, he said to my Great-Grandfather, Tipi Sapa, Philip Deloria, "Misu, my younger brother, these spiritual teachings are good. The one that is very difficult for me is to love and forgive those people that despitefully use you." The same is very challenging for me, in some cases, too.
As well, I understand that whatever I am feeling is within my own self and I am the only one who is able to ultimately, through Sacred Grace, to free myself from everything except our Beloved Creator. This last stage of my healing journey is focused on forgiveness and gratitude.
