My beloved father was raised by Great-Grandfather, Tipi Sapa, and his Grandmother Ella Deloria, when he was a very young boy, when his mother, my Grandmother, Lima Deloria (Ella's Sister died from tuberculosis. There was never a more devoted and loving grandson and grandfather than my father and his grandfather. This is the same love and devotion I feel for my beloved father.

My Grandfather Fred Lane suffered throughout his life from alcoholism and died an alcoholic. My Grandfather Fred was absent most of the time, as my father was growing up. Grandfather Fred disappeared from my father's life when he was 12.

Until today we do not still do not know where my Grandfather Fred is buried. There are two stories, one that he was murdered in New York. My father told me my Grandfather Fred was killed, because, as a top racehorse trainer, he refused to dope horses.

The other more recent story is that he died in South Dakota, close to where my grandmother, Lima died. Time will tell.

Despite my Grandfather's alcoholism, my father loved my grandfather as deeply and fiercely, as I love my father. He saw far beyond my grandfather's disease of alcoholism. He could see the end at the beginning. My father, along with my beloved mother passed to the Other Side Camp after a life dedicated to family, relationships, cultural and spiritual renewal, and Love.

When my father would tell me about the love he shared with his grandfather, he would weep. Tipi Sapa's English Name, Philip, now spans Four Generations, as does the name," Deloria.

In 1890 Chief Gall held a great Hunka and Wopida Ceremony and adopted Tipi Sapa, as his younger brother. This Sacred Ceremony united, in a Sacred Manner, our Hinhan Wacasa, Deloria, Ihanktowan, and Pizi, Hunkpapa Tiosapayes.

Hunka relatives are considered in every manner as full blood relatives. My Tahanshi, Greg Sherwood, said a truth, many years ago, that I always remember. He laughed and said many times we are closer to our Hunka relatives than our blood relatives because we spiritually choose our Hunka relatives, not our blood relatives. Either way, as my Grandmother Ella said that our highest Ihanktonwan spiritual teaching is to be a good relative.

The last time our Ihanktonwan and Hunkpapa relatives had camped together was at the Massacre at White Stone Hill. Lala's Pizi and Tipi Sapa joined material and spiritual forces for our spiritual comeback, that is now.

Many of my close Ihanktonwan-Humpapa relatives suffer, suffered, and have died from the disease of alcoholism. A disease suffered by my Chickasaw relatives, as well. Our family knows well this cunning, baffling, and powerful disease that has spread widely in our Indigenous communities worldwide.

The Sacred and sometimes Hidden Gift of this disease is the only way to find true harmony and peace, is Walking the Red Road that spiritually-rooted, principle-centered Path that has very heartbreaking times is a Good Path.

The Hurt of One is the Hurt of All, does not only apply to this physical world of time and space but from the very beginning that has no beginning; we all carry our unhealed Ancestorial Wounds. If these Ancestorial Wounds are not healed, soon, our Human Family will suffer more than we could ever imagine.

At the same time, never in our human history has there been a global spiritual movement of movements, rooted in the spiritual understanding, of the Prior Unity and Oneness of our Human Family and All Life, and Unity in Diversity, that is unfolding with the backdrop of our deepening global political, economic, social and religious conflicts, throughout our Mother Earth.

Ever since our Trail of Tears Ceremony, November 2, 2020, in Chickasaw Territory, Tennesee, my close cousins, my parents, grandparents, other relatives in the Spiritual World have been with me.

It is time for me to let the great pain and sadness, that I have carried, deep inside, of my uncried tears of losing my closest cousins to alcoholism. I pray and trust our Beloved Creator protects and cares for all our children and grandchildren, and all our relatives, past, present, and future.

Of my closest cousins, six of nine of these beloved cousins have died from alcoholism.

Beloved Creator, I pray that my beloved cousins, and all beloved relatives, past, present, and future, may always be immersed in your ever bounding and never-ending love, justice, forgiveness, compassion, and freedom from everything but your Sacred Spirit.

The Red Road is not an easy road, at times, but it is a Good One.

Sometimes even our close relatives may very hurtful, and your hurt part wants to strike them back, but with wisdom on individual and collective levels, it is clear that that the Sacred Path Forward is Healing, Reconciliation, Restitution, and Restoration. The Sacred Path to the beginning of Peace on Earth, by 2030!

I am very thankful to our Beloved Creator to live in this physical plane of existence world and to witness and participate in the fulfillment of our Sacred Prophecies, throughout the Americas and Beyond.

As I am getting older, I am very thankful to fully live my life, with my beloved ones, One Day at a Time!

Tonight, I send special heartfelt love, thanksgiving, and prayers to my dear brother, Leonard Gavin, and his beloved ones and for our spiritual journey together, of almost 60 years. I have enjoyed every step of the way!

My Names are Shunkmanu and Chunupa Sapa and I Stand Responsible before Our Creator for All My Words and My Actions.
