The Abbot was kind to honour me with a private visit before they are brought out for one day tomorrow. They are very beautiful and have a very strong spirit!

An elder in saffron monk's robes stands with palms pressed together before a gold-leafed seated Buddha and ornate shrine, surrounded by red walls with gold flame patterns.

The same robed elder, hands joined in prayer, beside an ancient gilded Buddha on a tiered altar adorned with green beaded offerings and flower garlands in a red and gold shrine.
