One of those mystical days. We heard and witnessed, it was raining, early this morning, across the region. Under these conditions, our charter plane could not fly and land. As well, sometimes this could last two or three days. Then some of the relatives turned to me and asked if I could pray and change the weather, a few with tongue in cheek, which is understandable! I said I believe in prayer and went to my room to pray.
As I started to pray, I realized clearly that our elders and relatives of Sarayaku had dreamed this and were already praying for our safe arrival. This was a no-brainer, they know the weather way better than I do, and they knew how tight our schedule is for the next week.
Then a voice said, " You will leave between 1-2 PM." I went downstairs and quietly communicated the answer to my prayer with some of my fellow travelers. They did not know quite what to say, and said, OK!
Just now the skies opened, and the sun came out. It is about 11:30 AM here and the message came through that we will be flying out by 2 PM. Never doubt your prayers, if they are heartfelt and safe, they will be answered. These are some of the relatives of Sarayaku who dreamed what was happening and did the needed prayers this morning for us to fly out this early afternoon!
