My Dekshi, Standing Rock Sioux, Visionary, and Author. Vine Deloria Jr. said that in the future, a civilization or nation will be judged, by how they treat those at the Dawn and Twilight of their lives.
This is the current playground for more than 200 children in the Community of Wakapala, the People of Chief Gall. This is the level of love and care, for our beloved children, that our current economic and political systems provide for a large majority of our children of our Human Family, not only the Americas but across most of our Mother Earth.
This is the current playground for more than 200 children in the Community of Wakapala, the People of Chief Gall, on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. This level of love and care for our beloved children can be seen in communities of color and material poverty everywhere on our Mother Earth! The love and care of our Elders are no different, in communities of poverty, around Mother Earth!
This is the Vision of the new Wakpala TLC Playground. So far, $23,000.00 needed, of the $46,129.00 to prepare the land and build the new, playground.
Any additional funds raised will be contributed to the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe's, Cannonball School Garden project, via the Patricia Locke Foundation, with matching funds from the Sarowitz Foundation.
The Cannonball School Garden Project will grow fruits and vegetables in Solen/Cannonball classrooms k-12, all year round, by using aeroponic growing technology. This action for food sovereignty will supplement school lunches and the kitchens of Community of Cannonball, with healthy and nutritious food options.
It was the Community of Cannonball, by the Cannonball River, that, with great community sacrifice, hosted the Standing Rock, Water Protector Camps, that stood up to stop the Dakota Access Pipe Line. This is a small token of Wopida, thanksgiving, for all they gave to Protect the Sacred!
This is a deep, possibly upsetting, and a seemingly, important question to ask ourselves. especially, at this time of growing social, economic, and political turmoil.
Why do twenty-five (25) % of both our white and black communities own Seventy-Five (75) % of the wealth of their communities? From my experience, this same income disparity seems to exist in Indigenous and Hispanic communities, as well.
Every community is unique, and only those members of each community know the actual reality of the extremes of wealth and poverty in their communities. And change comes from within!
If fact, this is most likely in urban and rural communities across Turtle Island. Only those who live in communities where there exists
Yes, racism is very alive and real, but it seems, so is greed, selfishness, and materialism. The reality is that The top one percent of the U.S.A. income holds over $25 trillion in wealth, which exceeds the wealth of the bottom 80 percent of our population. That is more than all the goods and services produced in the U.S. economy in 2018.
While most members of the Human Family suffered huge personal and losses, during the height of the Corona Virus, U.S.A. Billionaires added more than $500 Billion to their wealth. We know how many of the rest of us are doing the Corona Virus.
Yet, we seem to be consuming our energy and focus on fighting each other. What primary income strata's are fighting each other, on all sides. Is all this growing social conflict deepening in our streets and communities really addressing the real issues of inequality? That is not to say that just because you are wealthy, you are somehow, not inherently a good human being.
The top one percent of the U.S. Population holds over $25 trillion in wealth. This exceeds the wealth of the bottom 80 percent. If I was one of the one percent, with a vested interest in keeping the social and economic status quo, as it is, I would be pleased with our current condition.
I would not want any real social, political, and economic change. It seems it would be to my advantage if 80% of the population kept their focus and energy in adversarial partisan politics, violence, false news, and social and economic conflict.
I would be terrified of 80% of the population, awakening to the growing extremes of wealth and poverty, coming together in unprecedented, unified action and addressing and transforming the very unjust economic, social, and political reality in the United States of America. ? Although the U.S. has the greatest extremes of wealth and poverty on Mother Earth, many other nations, including Canada, are not very far beyond!
These are some other economic realities that need to be addressed in co-creating new governance and commercial systems that have unity in diversity, and justice, as their organizing principles.
The 400 wealthiest U.S. families now pay a lower overall tax rate than the middle-class, the first time that's happened in 100 years.
Taking into account federal, state, and local taxes, these ultra-wealthy households pay a total rate of about 23%— that compares with just over 24% tax for the bottom half of households.
Our heartfelt thanksgiving to our late, Tonja Toni Lane Casserly, Unify, the Integro Foundation, the Compassion Games, the United Religions Initiative (URI), the Pachamama Alliance, the Wakpala Spiritual Unity Society, and our Four World's Network, for your love, compassion, and support of the children and community of Wakpala, the People of Chief Gall.
